Sandhills Florist Association

In April the Sandhills Florist Association participated in the Garden Club Council of Fayetteville's Standard Flower Show and Home tour. All entries from Sandhills were exhibition items. The Garden Club Council had a very successful event and donated $6000 toward the beautfication of Fayetteville's Linear Park, primarily to purchase park benches. The Council also donated $2500 to the Fayetteville Beautiful campaign. Sandhills Florist Association is proud to be involved with this event to help beautify our city.

On May 29 we held our most recent meeting at Hilltop House Restaurant. Our guest designer was Richard Davis (DOY 1979) from Four Seasons Florist in Benson. He created several designs including a bridal bouquet, and arrangements for a party or reception, showing how the price conscious bride could utilize the same design for another part of the wedding by using a different container. Everyone in attendance had an enjoyable time.

Manuel Zaccheus, son of Margarete Zaccheus of Damac Florist qualified in the State Special Olympics Summer Games in aquatics, held June 2-3 in Raleigh. He swam in 4 events and won four Gold Medals. Congratulations to Manuel!!
